Hi, I'm Leah.

Counselor, business owner, recovering perfectionist, lifelong learner, coffee enthusiast, & friendly competitor :)

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in San Marcos, TX, and I work with adults, teens (ages 10+), college students, and couples. My goal is to create a space where it feels safe to share your story, explore patterns that may be holding you back, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself. Together, we’ll look at what’s been challenging, build skills to navigate life more confidently, and focus on the small, meaningful steps that can make a difference in your everyday life. I’m glad you’re here, and I’d be honored to support you on your journey.

Interests & Areas Of Focus

I work with individuals experiencing a variety of emotional and life challenges, including:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Depression and low mood

  • Life transitions and adjustment challenges

  • Relationship challenges

  • Self-esteem and confidence

  • Perfectionism

  • Trauma and difficult past experiences

  • Emotional regulation

  • Burnout and emotional overwhelm

  • Parenting Support

  • Faith and Spirituality

Personal Details

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our 6-month-old son. This season of life has been full of new experiences, and we love making the most of it together. As a family, we enjoy playing sports, going on walks, and exploring local coffee shops around town. Getting outside and trying new places helps us slow down and stay connected.

I also value simple moments like being active, sharing time with family and friends, and enjoying a good cup of coffee. These experiences remind me how important connection, balance, and support are in our lives—values that I strive to bring into my work as a counselor as I support clients in navigating challenges and working toward meaningful change.

Approach To Counseling

You deserve a personalized approach to counseling. I believe therapy is most effective when it is tailored to your unique experiences, goals, and strengths. I take a person-centered approach, creating a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and valued.

In our work together, I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Attachment Theory to explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships while building practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. My work is also grounded in trauma-informed care, with the goal of helping you build insight, strengthen coping skills, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

Education

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Texas State University and later earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. My education provided a strong foundation in evidence-based counseling practices and therapeutic approaches that support individuals through life’s challenges.

Before becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, I worked in a hospital setting supporting patients in crisis who were experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. This experience deepened my understanding of the complexities of mental health and continues to influence the compassionate, client-centered care I strive to provide in my counseling practice.
